Ahh, yes. In anticipation of the imminent arrival of the dvd of 'Tree of Life', I have been rewatching, nay experiencing the films, nay the slow unspooling philosophy of Terence Malick in all its wind-washed, wheat waving glory.
And then going for long walks, both physically and mentally, in this vast, unreeling cosmos we try to render home.
Jaysus don't start me on the tree of bleedin life.....Don't get me wrong, I love trees, nature, the outdoors, the Annapurna circuit, majestic Himalayan peaks etc. but the whole vibe of the film was just a bit too bleak and melancholic. I get enough of that on the radio here every day. So i stopped watching it half way through (for shame I hear you say) Did you enjoy it?
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing you and Cian at the end of the month. Very sorry Sanae won't be with you though.
On a completely different note Tiernan found a great ad-free internet radio station called Radio Paradise. Excellent choice of indie music which i reckon you'll like. Check it out.
But sis, didn't you reach out and try and touch the glory, or failing that, Brad Pitt's face?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip on the radio, though at the moment I am a devoted fan of 'An Taobh Tuathail' on RnaG. That and World Report which, ahem, I will be on this weekend...
